Area Boy Scout Executive Jason McCoy Takes Rotary Podium Tuesday
Rotarians Hosted 225 High School Students for Vocational Days

Rotarians are busily signing up for the District 6310 Conference and Assembly April 30-May 1 in Bay City. Conference chairman Hratch Basmadjian has announced more details.
This Tuesday Jason McCoy, regional Boy Scout executive, comes to the podium at the Bay City Rotary Club, in a program arranged by Jim Hollerbach.
Rotarians are busily signing up for the District 6310 Conference and Assembly April 30-May 1 in Bay City. Conference chairman Hratch Basmadjian has announced more details, including breakout sessions Friday at 3:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. at the Delta College Planetarium.
The conference opens with the district assembly Friday, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., in the Holiday Inn, with Ruby Iwamasa, district governor elect, presiding.
In cooperation with the Bay County Historical Society, Rotarians, wives and guests will have the opportunity to take atrolley tour of cemeteries, narrated by Dave Rogers.
And exclusive performance of the Bijou Orchestra directed by Leo Najar will be presented at the historic State Theatre, with cocktail reception following the performance.
Last week at Rotary, Tom Hollingsworth, president of Duro-Last Roofing, Saginaw, described the worldwide operations of the firm, headquartered in Buena Vista Township, Saginaw County. Duro-Last employs 700 persons, including 450 in Michigan.
Duro-Last, which maintains that it produces "the world's best roof," explained the innovative basis of the firm, founded in 1978 by John R. Burt. Burt was an installer of swimming pools who adapted pool liners for use as roof covering. The result was a business that 25 years later has production facilities in the U.S., Canada and Poland and sales of $100 million a year.
The Mar. 30 program will feature Mike Seward, president of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, introduced by Dave Rogers, programmer;
Eric Renshaw, entrepreneurial custom yacht and small craft builder, will speak on Apr. 6, with introduction by Dave Rogers, programmer;
A speaker from Bay Regional Health Center will talk about the new volunteer health clinic in Essexville on Apr. 13, with introduction by programmer Keith Markstrom;
Apr. 20 will see a speaker on the 8th annual Mid-Michigan Regional Business Expo, slated Wed. May 5 at Saginaw Valley State University; Introduction willbe by programmer Jim Hollerbach;
Laura Ogar, Bay County environmental affairs and community development director, is scheduled to speak on economic development to Rotary on Apr. 27, with introduction by programmer Jim Hollerbach.###
