Rotarians and Optimists Celebrate Season With Musical Program

December 21, 2010
By: Stephen Kent

The Bay City Rotary club held their annual Holiday Music Program on December 21 and invited the local Optimist Club to join in the festivities. The two clubs have a number of spousal connections so it was a perfect "Family of Rotary" occasion.

Lee and Molly Newton started the program with piano and Sax piece. Andy Rogers accompanied on violin. The "Rotary Band" followed with a number seasonal tunes. Jeff Yantz's six year old daughter Ella (seven the next day) joined the group with a performance well beyond her years.

The group was joined by Jerome Yantz's grandson Tanner Peltier on drums, and Pete Socha on bass. The other band members were Rotarians Lee Newton on Sax, Ron Bloomfield on guitar, Andy Rogers on violin, Rob Clark vocalist, and Jeff Yantz on guitar.

This program has become an annual treat and great fun for the club. Thanks to all the musicians!
