What are the "New Initiatives for 2006" for Saginaw County, Bay County and Midland County?
That theme will be explored Monday noon at the Tri-County Economics Club, meeting in a luncheon at Curtiss Hall, Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU).
Panel members will be Steve Jonas, executive vice president of Saginaw Future, Inc.; Scott Walker, executive director of Midland Tomorrow; and Frederick W. Hollister, president and CEO of Bay Future, Inc.

What each organization is doing in their area and what they are doing collaboratively will be explained at the session.
Mr. Jonas has 18 years experiencein economic development. He is a current board member of the Saginaw-Bay-Midland Michigan Works! Board, Saginaw County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, East Central Michigan Planning and Development Region Revolving Loan Fund Board and Michigan Economic Development Michigan Global Partnership America Division.
Steve is a certified economic developer through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). He has a bachelor's degree in Finance from Central Michigan University and an master's in business administration (MBA) from SVSU.

Mr. Walker began at Midland Tomorrow in 2004 as economic development manager and became executive director in January, 2006. Previously, he was in sales and business development at TRW Automotive and spent six years calling on major vehicle manufacturers. He has an engineering degree from Kettering University, Flint, and an MBAfrom Michigan State University.
Before joining Bay Future in June, 2005, Mr. Hollister was director of economic development for the City of Piqua, Ohio. He also held economic development posts with the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the Greater Des Moines, Iowa, Chamber of Commerce. He is a native of Des Moines, graduate of Iowa State University and holds a master's from the University of Northern Iowa. He is also a certified economic developer through the IEDC.###
