Kirsten McIlvenna, Program Officer for the Bay Area Community Foundation,
spoke to Rotary on Tuesday about the upcoming " Give Local Bay" fund raiser.
Scheduled for May 7, 2019 the 24 hour program gives the community a way to go on-line and contribute funds to local organizations.

Any organization that maintains an endowment with the Community Foundation can be a participant. The objective is to raise funds for the organization's endowment. But there are also incentives and contests. Those raising the most money get incentive money added to their total.
The incentive pool provided by the BACF is $25,000 this year. The more money an organization raises, the higher their incentive payout. It's all based on a formula that insures a fair distribution of the money.
Contests provide another way to pick a quick $250 prize, or two. Those contests range from getting the first donation, to selfies, to the most unique donor, and many others. Check their web site for details.
The majority of the (tax-deductible) donations will be in the form of an on-line credit card payment. Other forms of payment will be accepted at the BACF office, but won't count toward the 24 hour prizes.
