BAY CITY, MICHIGAN - Local historian and author D. Laurence Rogers has written an exclusive new interactive
Ghost Tour for the State Theatre's fourth annual Ghost Tour and a Movie on October 27, 2006.

"Thanks to performers from the Bay City Players, several of Bay City lurid tales will be reenacted for the first time," said Carolyn White, co-chairperson of the State Theatre Ghost Tour Committee, adding: "You will hear and see things that will take you back to the violent days of yesteryear. Tour goers also will have a surprise in store when they return to the theatre after the hour-long bus tour."
Some of the tales include the ghost of brawling lumberjack Fabian "Joe" Fournier stalking his killer on Hell's Half Mile in 1875, the apparition of a workman who crashed fatally from the roof of City Hall in 1896, the sleepwalking teenage girl of Pine Ridge Cemetery who died of fright, the mysterious ghost of the Elm Lawn Cemetery Gatehouse, Capt. Horace Warfield, and the spectre of slinky Lorelei Lee, smoking exotic dancer from the Top Hat nightclub still ghoulishly puffing after all these years. Other ghost stories will be told on the tour too.
After visiting old time hotspots to see frightful characters stepping out of their graves, settle down in the beautifully restored State Theatre, architect C. Howard Crane's Mayan masterpiece of the 1930s.
The film noir of the night is classic, seldom-seen tale of suspense, "The Picture of Dorian Gray," a movie that will rise from the mists of time and shake your emotions.
Ticket prices for the Ghost Tour and A Movie are $15. Buses leave every fifteen minutes from the State Theatre starting at 5:15 p.m. with the last bus departing at 7:30 p.m. Call the box office to reserve your tickets for the tour of your choice 989-892-2660.
