Free Michigan Fishing Weekend
Ice Fishing
This weekend is
Michigan's Winter Free Fishing Weekend, February 15th and 16th. This weekend anyone can fish license-free on Michigan's waters!
Also going on this weekend, the 10th annual winter Festival is being held at the Bay City Sate Recreation Area on Saturday, February 15th.
Activities will be starting at 9:00 am with the Kid's Ice Fishing Derby and run throughout the evening with a shoreline star gazing program.
Some of the other events going on at the park include the Snow Sculpting Competition with this years theme - Michigan's Winter-Loving Mammals" the Snow Snake Competition, Ice Fishing Classes, Snowball Tournament, Sled Races, Ice Skating and much, much more!
This event is free, however you will need a state park motor vehicle permit to get into the park. If you'd like more information contact the Bay City State Recreation Area at (989) 667-0717.
Get out there and enjoy what's left of this beautiful Michigan Winter. Next weeks temp's are supposed to stay in the 30's and you know what that means?!
Open water will soon be found and Springtime fishing will be closer than you think!
