When I see eight guitar players out on the street in Downtown Bay City, I have to stop and find out why.
So I drove around the block, parked and went over to listen.
Come to find out, this group is the Herter Music Center Guitar Society and they meet on the 1st Thursday of every month to share music and camaraderie.
They were out on the street during the setup for Downtown Sidewalk Days. This weekend in Bay City will be the "Be Cool Car Show" in addition to the Sidewalk Days. In addition, Timothy's Tobaccos also has some special events planned.
Where else in Mid-Michigan do you find random groups of musical talent just "jamming" out on the street corner?
Bay City, Michigan is a wonderful place to live. We have good people, safe street, and our downtown is a happening place.
As Bob Barker used to say . . . C'mon Down(Town) . . .
Jennifer Granholm got it right.
We really are a "Cool City."
