Last Wednesday (July 18th) was MOTOWN night at the Stables. Even during the warm-ups, you could feel the musical tension in the air.

A near-capacity crowd jammed into Stables Martini and Cigar Bar for a taste of the Motown sound.

Stables Owner Art Dore smiled at the big crowd. "We got something going on here tonight," Dore said. Chief Judge Mike Sheets was also "tuned in" to the electricity of the moment. "There is quite a buzz in the air tonight," Sheets said. This (Judging) is not going to get any easier."

Host and Emcee Doug Dore brought each entertainer out onto the stage to wild applause as each singer seems to have developed a following or a personal posse. "Some of these singers have been here every Wednesday for the past 10 weeks," Dore said. "These performers are getting more and more popular and developing a following."

Only two weeks of singing remain for these 10 finalists. This Wednesday, July 25, the performers will all sing their best country song. On the last Wednesday, August 1st, the 10 singers will be able to sing the song of their choice.

On August 1st, the judges will pick the "Final Four." These 4 singers will perform at the Pig Gig on Friday night, where the winner will be crowned.

That grand prize winner will sing at the Pig Gig on Saturday night and also receive an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas.

It's Country Night at the Stables on Wednesday. Put on your cowboy hats and spurs and "boot scoot boogie" over to Stables on the West Side of Bay City for warm-ups at 8:30pm with the competition getting under way at about 9:00pm.
