"It was just a perfect day for wine in downtown Bay City," said Katie Ross, Marketing and Event Coordinator for Downtown Management Board.
"We want to thank all the participating establishments for their support of the event," Ross went on. "We could never do it without their support."
There seemed to be a number of "first-timers" at the 2007 East Side Wine Walk. Meagan Brady, a teacher in the Hampton School System was having a wonderful time at Old City Hall with friends Denise Kluka and Patti Perry. "We're having so much fun," Brady said. "Every year I want to go but it slips by. This year we all said . . . "We're Just Going."
A very busy Tony Jeske, Manager at Old Cit Hall, was taking care of details as hundreds of Wine Walkers passed through Old City Hall. "We we're ready and had everything on display at 4:00 pm," Jeske said. "We always have such a huge crowd. We try real hard to make it an enjoyable experience for anyone on tour."
It appeared that Jeske had succeeded.
At Gatzby's, just around the corner, Wendy Revette and Kristen Russell were offering wine to a full house. One customer at Gatzby's, Molly Smekar, was also on tour for the first time. "I love wine and I love downtown Bay City" Smekar said smiling. "We're all having a glorious time today."
