"We looking to have a great crowd tonight," said Stables Manager John Buehl as the nightclub began filling at around 8:00 pm last Wednesday. "I think we have 10 acts signed up already and there's a chance for more," Buehl said.
"Any new act is welcome, any time," Buehl said. "Just come on down any Wednesday and we'll get you in the competition that night."
This past Wednesday, talent included: Bridgette Ballor, Tarah Bailer, Craig Blanchard, Chris Claude, Lauren Thomas, Jessica Rex, Don Kapp and Christina Cecchin. All performers got the "Thumbs Up" from the judges and will be back for another round on September 19th.

The Stables & Martini Bar, is coming off the huge success of a 13-week, Wednesday night,
Mid Michigan Idol Challenge that brought out over 90 singing contestants and hundreds of fans each week (for 3 months) to the Stables during the summer.
Stables followed that up with a very successful Michigan's Got Talent that ended December 5th with Micah walking away with the top prize.
Stables is now hoping that they can duplicate the same success (again) with a more general talent competition. "We're looking for the most talented people in Mid Michigan," Art Dore said. "C'mon down . . . Show us what you got."
The follow-up competition (which began on January 9th) is called:
MICHIGAN'S GOT TALENT II - Winter 2008! The competition will run every Wednesday night at Stables for 13 weeks.
Every four weeks, FINALISTS will be named.
"We're looking for any kinds of acts or musicians or dog tricks," said Buehl.
