The Western Warrior Girls showed heart and determination in their final regular season game against Flint Central.
After being down by as many as 15 points the Warriors battled back to tie the game at the end of the third at 30-30.
After mounting the come back, the Warriors slipped up on the foul line going just 4 of 17.
By converting half of those attempts the Warriors could have ended their season on a winning note, instead the Phoenix went 10 of 16 from charity stripe and snuck out of the Warrior gymnasium with a 46-43 win.
"I am proud of these kids, we have nine seniors on our team so this was a big night for them, we are going to regroup and play hard against Mount Pleasant in districts," said Warrior coach Kim Klein.
Western was lead by Courtney Rousseau and Sara Herbolsheimer with 11 each while Jessica Costello chipped in 10.
The Warriors finish the regular season 7-13 and 1-9 in the Valley.
Western is hosting the Class A Districts and will meet Mount Pleasant at 7:00PM on Monday night.
