I was born and raised in Bay City and frequented the State theatre with my mother in in the late '40's and early 50's and with friends until moving to California in 1965. My husband Len and I were in town for a reunion and while walking down Washington Ave. on August 27th paused in front of the State theatre to read the signs in the windows. The couple working there graciously let Len and I in to take pictures and our own video of the newly refurbished interior. For all the advances in the entertainment field, the theatres themselves, of our time, will always be the most beautiful.
Thank you very much for bringing back a lot of memories.
