SPECIAL TO MYBAYCITY FROM JESSICA CUNNINGHAM:
Cocoa Beach/Satellite Beach/Melbourne, Florida took the brunt of Hurricane Fay in mid-August 2008.
Up to 33" of rain fell in the period of 48 hours - causing destructive flooding throughout all of Eastern Florida.
Businesses were closed, Florida Tech dorm rooms were flooded and all traffic on North/South Highway A1A was shut completely down.
Our Reporter, Jessica Cunningham headed for high ground and rode out the storm without incident.
Ben Veenema is showing the ironic waterfront property and home warranty included sign. Funny and not really funny all at the same time. Melbourne, Fl.
Nate Denton took this picture. Notice that the window is also open. That's the least of their worries. Melbourne, Fl.

Mike Souminen took this picture.

The guys in the kayak are Colin Meigs and Vince Elsier. They are pulling a kayak with an F350. It should be a new Olympic sport. Melbourne, Fl.
Colin Meigs and Vince Elsier just wanted to try every possible mode of transportation. Now they are just looking for some rapids. Melbourne, Fl.
