EHLL's game of the week featured Rost Cleaning versus Meijer. A hard hitting contest saw Meijer jump out to an early lead and hold on to down Rost 12-6.

Meijer got things going in the top of the first inning. After a lead off walk to Neil Spencer, Meijers followed with three consecutive singles by CJ Glaza, Spencer Reams and Logan Martin. This pushed across the plate a couple runs before Austin Dominowski made it four runs with a double. Rost came back in their half of the first with a run of their own on three straight hits by Zavien Strickler, Trevor Thomson and Guy Henika making it 4-1 Meijers after one inning.

Meijers added three more runs in the third inning. After Brendon McNally and Neil Spencer walked, Ethan Lesperance rapped a double and CJ Glaza followed that with a single to drive in the runs giving Meijers a 7-1 lead.

After holding off Rost in the bottom of the third, Meijers was back at it racking up two more runs. Martin singled to lead off the fourth. Then after the next two batters struck out, Desmond Glaza stroked a double driving in Martin and later scored himself on a single by Jack Hattfield pushing the Meijers' lead to 9-1.

Rost was not about to go quietly. Andy Crete ripped a double and later scored narrowing the margin to 9-2.

But this was a night that Meijers could not be contained. After Spencer worked his third walk of the game, Lesperance and Glaza single followed by Reams double to score another three runs widening the margin to 12-2.

Rost was able to score one in the bottom of the fifth on a Victor Estinoza single. In the sixth, three straight singles by Mason Monville, Andy Crete and Jonathon Christie helped produce three more runs but this was not enough as Meijers held on to win 12-6.

John,

Thanks for the great coverage that you give our little league. In regards to this game that you covered, you have the team names wrong. It was Meijer who hammered Rost Cleaning.

Thanks,

Wally Reames
Meijer Assistant Coach

Also on the Meijer vs Rost cleaing, the names under the photos are incorrect. Top photo pitching is Andy Crete. Where you have Ben Christie listed, it's Alex Scheffler. Also where Crete is sliding into 2nd, the Meijer player is CJ Glaza

Thanks for making the corrections to this article. I was a little confused when I read it the first time a few days ago. Now that the player names match their teams and their photos, it makes sense!
Agree? or Disagree?
