Wednesday Night Baseball at EHLL saw plenty of action as Meijer and R&R Ready Mix were swinging their bats all night. But the Mixers late inning charge was not enough to overpower Meijer in a 13-10 slugfest.

Meijer started the game by scoring 7 runs. Neal Spencer, Ethan Lesperance and CJ Glaza all singled. After Spencer Reams reached base on an error, singles by Logan Martin and Jack Hattfield with a double by Austin Dominowski mixed in helped propel Meijer to a big lead.

Ready Mix responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the first. Jake Sanburn led off with a walk. He was then able to work himself around thanks to an error and a passed ball putting the Mixers on the score board, 7-1.

Meijer kept swinging in the second inning to expand their lead. Neal Spencer got things started with a double followed by singles by CJ Glaza, Logan Martin and Austin Dominowski to put Meijer up 11-1.

Meijer would need every run they got as Ready Mix put on their rally caps. First, Jake Sanburn singled in Eric Mead for a run in the third. Then they scored five more runs in the fourth. Tristin Kayner worked a walk to get things started. Then after Zack Czinder reached base on an error, Dennis Ross, Cameron Monroe and Eric Mead all singled bringing the Mixers back to within four runs, 11-7.

Meijer would add some insurance runs in the top of the sixth inning. After CJ Glaza and Spencer Reams singled, Logan Martin drove them home with a base hit giving Meijer a 13-7 lead.

R&R made an effort for a comeback in the bottom of the sixth. After two walks and a hits batsman loaded the bases, Austin Ahrns and Jake Sanburn singled home three runs making it the final score of Meijer 13, R&R 10.

Meijer plays again Monday at 7pm against St. Laurent Brothers while Ready Mix takes on Rost Cleaning also at 7pm.
