This game was billed as a pitcher's duel with both teams possessing strong pitching. But one run was all Caro needed as the beat John Glenn advancing to Saturday's district tournament games.
Caro got the lone run of the game in the third inning. Vanessa Taylor singled to start things off. Following a walk to Jillian Libby, Amanda Ellis stroked a double bringing in Taylor for a 1-0 lead.
This was all Caro could muster against Glenn's Audrey Oleniacz. John Glenn's junior ace set the side down in order the rest of the way giving up only three hits in the game while striking out nine.
But Caro's Cortney Ellis was also very sharp all night. The senior pitcher set the John Glenn side down in order in five of the seven innings only surrendering a single to Alexis Mallard and a walk to Haley Mallard. Meanwhile Ellis prevented the Bobcats from hitting a single ball to the outfield as she struck out seven along the way.
