Be Cool Incorporated, Essexville manufacturer of high performance cooling systems for automotive applications, hosted their fifth annual "Be Cool Car Show" this weekend. Organizers anticipated over 750 street cruisers, Mustangs, hot rods, Corvettes, antiques, customs & motorcycles to be on hand for the show. Judging from the miles of cars lining Woodside Ave, and the thousands of people, that estimate seems reasonable.
Roger Rosebush, (pictured at right) founder of Be Cool, talked about the show. "Detroit has 'Woodward Ave. Cruising'. We invited people to come cruise Woodside Ave. in Essexville. The show is a great outing and everyone has fun. This year we have music by Bay City's "The Go Daddys" rock band and great bar-b-que from 'Bone Daddy's Bar-b-Que' of Midland. You might say our theme is 'Who's your Daddy'."Besides having a great time, the event is a seriousfund raiser for the American Cancer Society. Rosebush anticipates that the event will raise over $10,000 this year from event registration fees, consessions and donations at the show.
A number of awards were presented at Sunday afternoon's closing ceremony. Four large trophies were presented for "Mrs. Be Cool's" favorite, selected by Deb Rosebush, The Essexville "Mayor's Choice", the "City Manager's" choice and the "Neighbor's" choice.
