The World Expo of Beer is a annual event and is hosted by the Frankenmuth Jaycee's in Frankenmuth Michigan and is Michigan's Largest Beer Sampling event, with over 250 different beers available.
The event supports local charities. In May 2010 Record crowds and number of beers made this years event a huge success.
Bay City's B.A.R.T.S. Brewpub (Formerly Lumber Barons) Brewmaster Marty Rapnicki (Left) won 2 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze at World Expo of Beer held recently in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
The award winning beers that won are:
The Red and Rauchbier are currently on tap at B.A.R.T.S.
(formerly Lumber Barons, 804 E. Midland Street Bay City, MI 48706)
Descriptions for the beers are:
Rauchbier a smoked German lager made in the Viennia/Marzen style with the addition of cherry wood smoked malt that gives this beer a smoky flavor. Goes great with any smoked food like cheese or fish. Also, with BBQ baby back ribs. about 6.0 % alcohol by Volume (ABV).
Cardinal Red Ale is deep amber to red in color with a good malty flavor and low hop bitterness. Made for those that like the Irish red beer. 5.5%ABV.
Munich Dunkel a German dark lager. Dunkel is German for dark malty with a very slight roasted flavor 6.0% ABV
English Pale Ale has a good bitterness from the use of English hops, just the right amount of malt to balance the beer. 5.0%ABV.
