Konnie Gill, Physician Recruiter

The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum recently added Konnie Gill to its Board of Advisors.

Gill is the physician recruiter at Bay Regional Medical Center. She has served the non-profit community for many years, including serving on the Bay Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Executive Committee, chairing the Bay Regional Medical Center annual charity ball, and she was the Bay Area YMCA Board President from 2007 - 2011.

Gill has been a participant of Leadership Bay County, the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, and a loaned executive for the annual United Way Campaign.

"As the physician recruiter at Bay Regional Medical Center, it is vital to have amenities in our community that draw and keep physicians and their families in the Great Lakes Bay Area' Gill said. 'The Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum is an integral piece of culture that helps us achieve that goal. I am honored to serve on this board."

Gill received the annual Liberty Bell award from the Bay County Bar Association in 2006, in recognition of her dedication to the community. After the death of her son, Gill established the Eric James Blair Memorial Scholarship Foundation and toured Michigan telling the story to high schools, universities and community organizations about her son's death from an alcohol-related accident. The scholarship fund in Erica's name is held at the Bay Area Community Foundation.

Gill resides in Bay City with her husband Harry.

"Over the last three years I have gotten to know Konnie and the work she does in her community and beyond," said Marilyn Wheaton, Museum Director. "She will bring unique skills and experience to the Museum Board. We are thrilled she has agreed to serve."

The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum is located on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University.

The current exhibition at the Museum is Sketches to Sculptures, Rendered Reality: Sixty Years with Marshall M, Fredericks, which runs through June 12. Museum hours are Monday through Saturday, 12 noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
