Michael J. Duranczyk
Michael J. Duranczyk, a Democrat who has represented the northern part of Bay County on the Board of Commissioners since 2009, has filed for re-election to that position as a Republican.
"It will be gratifying to belong to a local political party that is concerned about Bay County government and not revenge politics", Duranczyk said after filing paperwork with Bay County Clerk Cynthia A. Luczak.
When re-elected this fall Duranczyk says he will continue to do the best job he can to provide the services of Bay County to the taxpayers of the First District.
"We are excited to have Mike on board with us this year!" said Bay County G.O.P. Chairman Aaron J. Baylis. "He'll be a great asset to our ticket as we work to earn a majority on the Bay County Board of Commissioners."
Matthew L. Lance, Treasurer of the Republican Party and also Chairman of the Campaign/Finance Committee added "Tony Pawelski is the best chairman that the Bay County Republican Party has ever had." Pawelski is the Chairman of the Bay County Republican Party.
The results of the 2010 U.S. Census and the work of the Bay County Apportionment Commission mean that the First District is larger than it has been for the past decade. The new district encompasses Gibson, Mt. Forest, Pinconning, Garfield, Fraser, and Beaver Townships, the second precinct of Williams Township, the City of Pinconning, and a small portion of the City of Midland.
