Have you always wanted to go camping, but never knew how? You and your family can now experience camping in Michigan's outdoors without the worry by taking advantage of the Department of Natural Resources' and Gander Mountain's First Time Campers Program. The cost is only $20.
Here is what your $20 will get you?
First Time Camper Informational Welcome Kit including help from a Park ranger to set up your camp. Two Nights of Camping Gear loaned to you by Gander Mountain which includes:
Tent
Tarp
Flashlight
Lantern
Stove
Hot dog /marshmallow cookers
Fishing poles
Here is how you participate.
1. Choose a date.
2. Choose one of the state parks or state recreation areas listed below.
3. Contact that park and ask the park supervisor to enroll you as a First Time Camper.
