My pre-planning brainstorm session for how I was going to write the Weekend Movie Update article this week went a little like this:
SEE LOOPER. THE END.
Levitt and Willis in this week's Looper
Sure you've got another animated movie coming out with "big names" (See: Washed up) like Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and the always entertaining Andy Samberg. There's also the sure-to-be heart warming film Won't Back Down about two mothers who attempt to turn around a failing inner city school. Both of these movies are fine selections if you're heading to the theater with your children or your grandmother. If you're not, Looper is the movie for you.
Looper involves the mob, assassinations, all-you-can-handle action, the future, and TIME TRAVEL. Do I have your attention yet? No? Bruce Willis. Joseph Gordon-Levitt. How about now? If your answer is still 'no,' then I suggest you rethink your life.
Because I'm a nice guy I did you the solid of listing all three movies coming out this weekend (also because that's what they pay me to do). So check out the show times, trailers, and other information below to make the decision for yourselves. But seriously... see Looper. You're welcome, Internet.
