Bay City Public Schools Cooperative Education Training Program celebrates its 68th year, paying tribute to the estimated twelve thousand students that have participated throughout the years.
According to the Cooperative Education Guidelines, the purpose of cooperative education employment is to help students to: "Apply learned, occupational competencies, receive specialized occupational training, and to practice employablity skills", as well as "help student put their skills and knowledge to work as they test their career interests and goals."
Members of the Co-Op program for the 2011-2012 school year reaped the rewards for their hard work this past May, where they were recognized for their achievements at the 53rd annual Cooperative Training Program Recognition Banquet.
It was here that Co-Op of the year awards were given to finalists in each of the four categories of classification, including office occupations, marketing, pre-professional, and trade/industry.
