Labadie Pig Gig Festival Ends After 20 Years
The event has raised $1,000,000 for local area charities
A Facebook post from the Labadie Pig Gig stating "As the saying goes, All good things must come to an end.", indicating after 20 years, organizer Wendy Dore doesn't plan on continuing the annual event.
Dore said, "Thank you for your past support of the Labadie Pig Gig! After 20 years the event has raised $1,000,000 for local area charities and has offered the best in ribs and family entertainment for the Great Lakes Bay Region!"
The Labadie Pig Gig was well known for being a Championship Rib Cook-off and the setting for national competitors vying for the title of "The Best in the Midwest".
Dore said, "It is a bittersweet message to announce, but the event has accomplished it's goals and will no longer be held."
