Bay City's Fourth - More Than Just Fireworks
Bay City is know through the Mid-west for it's Fourth of July fireworks weekend. For three days the city celebrates with carnivals, concerts, parades, and the fireworks. Each year the fireworks seem to get all the attention, but the other events are just as much fun and draw thousands to the area. --- Advertisements ---

Just a partial list of events, on both sides of the river, include performances by: Dr. RockBlue Oyster CultDaniel PatrickThe Go-Daddy'sThe Kentucky HeadhuntersGone Daddy GoneThe Reed BrothersJurassic Rock 50's - 60's
There is a dinner cruise on the Princess Wenonah tour boat each day. In the park on the West side is Trader's Alley Crafter's show, the Skerbeck Carnival Midway and the Hospitality tent manned by the Bay City JayCees.
The event is always orderly and fun. This is largely due to the excellent work by organizers and the Bay City Police to limit alcholicbeverages, provide parking control and stay visible. All cars entering the area are checked. Despite the numbers, it's relatively quick as a production line with four to five cars being checked at the same time.
New this year is the opening of the Riverwalk Fishing Pier as a VIP, prime viewing area. For $10 you get a chair, 2 hot dogs, 2 sodas, and some of the best seating for the fireworks.
