The 3rd Annual Restore the Roar George W. Stevenson Handy Alumni football game is scheduled for Sat, Sept 21.
Gates open at 6 p.m., admission is free.
The game will be played under the lights in the Handy stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
Players from even-year graduating classes take on players from odd-year graduating classes. The event serves as a homecoming of sorts for Handy graduates, offering them a chance to return to their old stomping grounds and relive some memories from their days in Red and White.
The high school closed in 1990 after 48 years but continues as a middle school. Stevenson served as high school principal for 17 years.
Coaches include Gene Rademacher (even) and Jerry Grant (odd); assistants include Phil Zanotti, Tom Sullivan, Willis Johnston, John Young and Tom Merkle.
The odd team has won the past 2 years; winner gets their name on alumni spirit jug.
After party will be held at Bay Lanes.
Full concession stand will be in operation and clothing and other Wildcat mementos will be for sale.
