Your Bay Area Chamber's Community Beautification Committee invites you to join us in beautifying the entrance and exit of Bay City.

October 14 & 15, volunteers will be planting over 40,000 daffodil bulbs along US-10 between I-75 and the Thomas/Jenny split.  Click here to view a map of the designated area.

Parking, volunteer check-in, and food/hospitality tents will be located at the IBEW Local 692, 1300 West Thomas Street.

Transportation from the IBEW to the designated area will be provided.  Buses will route continuously throughout the day, approximately every half hour.

All volunteers MUST be 18 years or older.  All volunteers will receive a Dow Chemical volunteer t-shirt.

Volunteers Needed for the following Shifts:

• October 14 - 8am to Noon
• October 14 - 1pm to 5pm
• October 15 - 8am to Noon
• October 15 - 1pm to 5pm

Lunch will be provided to all volunteers from noon to 1pm.

Volunteers Needed for the following Tasks:

Driller I Plywood Mover - These volunteers will have the most physical demanding job. They will be required to repetitively auger holes using a 3/8" corded drill motor with a 2" earth auger. They will be periodically relieved and while not augering will be moving 4' X 8' X 5/8" plywood from the back of the work area to the front, 24'.

Generator Operator - this position will be to keep extension cords running clear (not tangled) and to keep the generator running.

Bulb Handler I Planter - The planter will be placing the bulb in the hole and pushing the soil back into the hole. They will most likely be on their hands and knees for extended periods. Knee pads would make this task more comfortable. The bulb handler will bring the bulbs from the supply truck and place them near the hole for the planter to install. The handlers and planters will be rotated as to keep fatigue from setting in.

Misc. Helper - To fill-in any task as previously described or other unforeseen tasks.
