Ryan T. Carley Appointed President/CEO of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce
Ryan Carley
Al Blinke, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce announced today the appointment of Ryan T. Carley to the position of CEO / President of the Chamber, replacing Michael Seward who retired January 28, 2015.
Mr. Blinke said, "Ryan was the unanimous choice of the selection committee. His background and reputation in the community is outstanding. We all feel confident that Ryan will take the Chamber to a new level, which is no small task considering the growth and energy that the Chamber has experienced under Mike Seward's tenure. However, a large part of the success of the Chamber lies in the wonderful work that the staff and volunteers do on a daily basis. Given Ryan's reputation as a leader and mentor, we all feel he is a perfect fit."
Ryan has a rich background in leadership and has held several senior positions over the past 17 years in the banking industry, principally at Citizens Bank and most recently FirstMerit bank. He holds a degree in Management from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids and is an alumnus of Leadership Bay County.
Ryan has been active as a Board member of the Chamber, as well as the Treasurer for the United Way of Bay County and Bay Sail. He is the 2012 Ruby Award Winner and is active in his three children?s athletic activities. Ryan has roots in the community and is excited to be able to serve it.
Mr. Blinke added that a number of volunteers from the Chamber were actively involved in the very rigorous and time-consuming selection process. Mitzi Dimitroff, Laurie Bush, Michael Stodolak, and Michael Hanisko were committed to the process and their judgment and business acumen were of great value.
Ryan will assume his new duties on May 11, 2015.
