CAN Council Ducky Derby 2015, presented by SC Johnson, brings free children's activities to the docks of Bay City's Castaways Bar & Grill Saturday, August 29th from 9-11am. New to this year's lineup of children's activities is a visit from the McDonald Duck Boat. Kids & parents alike will get to climb aboard and explore this original amphibious military DUWK vehicle.
Local agencies and event sponsors will host additional activities and games to include:
Home Depot kids building project
Bangor Township Fire Department Smoke House
Bounce house
Bean bag toss
The Ducky Derby race itself begins at 10am with thousands of "adopted" ducks cast down the Kawkawlin River. Adoptive parents of the first 10 ducks to cross the finish line will waddle away with prizes, including a $1,000 cash award!
Adopt your duck today for $5! Increase your odds of winning by purchasing a Six Quack for $25, a Ducky Dozen for $50 or a Max Quack of 25 for $100. You need not be present at the Derby to win. Purchasing your duck in advance ensures it will enter the race! Ducks are available now at CAN Council offices, Castaways Bar & Grill, and online at cancouncil.org/event-registration. Ducks may also be adopted at the event.
Proceeds from the Ducky Derby benefit CAN's Child Abuse Prevention Education programs working to protect children from abuse and strengthen families. For more information, call Catherine Martinez at (989) 671-1345.
