MLK SCHOLARSHIP: Foundation Seeks Student Applicants by Nov. 2

Great Lakes Bay Region, MI - Students in the Great Lakes Bay Region may now apply for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Scholarship. Applications are due November 2, 2015.

The scholarships are awarded to Bay, Midland, and Saginaw County high school seniors, regardless of ethnicity, who actively embrace King's dream of improving racial harmony and social justice.

Eileen A. Curtis, president and CEO of the Bay Area Community Foundation elaborated, "Today's world demands that we embrace cultural diversity and celebrate our differences. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Scholarship honors those students who recognize this and are dedicated to peace, justice and multi-cultural equality."

The scholarship award(s) will be at least $1,000 and are non-renewable. The scholarship awards will be presented at the annual Great Lakes Bay Regional Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration program to be held on January 20, 2016, at Saginaw Valley State University.

Students may access the application via the Bay Area Community Foundation website at: http://bayfoundation.org/scholarships/mlkregionalscholarship. Please note, applicants will need to create a user account and should allow a minimum of one business day for account approval before completing application.
