It has some very funny lines but is really a 'dramedy'. I loved it. I laughed out loud. I got sentimental. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Diane Keaton does a fine job as the mom. John Goodman does the best job I've ever seen him do. Alan Arkin is always good. The child actors are good. Everyone was very believable. It is narrated by Steve Martin.
There are four generations gathered for Christmas Eve dinner. Through quick flashbacks you see things that have lead them to be the people they are today.
