The Rotary Club held its annual Holiday Program on Tuesday. Members of the Northern Bay and Arenac Rotary, the Bay City Optimist, and the Bay City Morning Club were invited guest at the program. The Bay Brass provided seasonal music. Jeff Yantz and Rob Clark led the combined clubs in carols and seasonal songs.
President Brenda Scramlin presented some remarks after which Krystal Casey Danielak spoke for the Optimists and Mike Stoner for the Northern Bay and Arenac Rotary.
As a service project, the club and guests were asked to bring hats, gloves and scarves. These were collected and presented to the Bay County Library System which, with another partner agency, held a "sharing tree" program. The items are to be left on library grounds for anyone in need to pick up.
During the singing, Jeff and Rob tapped a dozen members and guests, giving each a rythm instrument and lining them up at the front of the room. After the brass playfully "tuned" the "sticks, rocks and bones", and lead them in a practice chorus, the group accompanied the assembled Rotarians and Guests in a rousing(?) rendition of... of... of... well, THIS reported is not sure just WHAT that piece was.
As the program ends, everyone was wished a Merry Christmas and Happy New year.
Combined clubs join to share a meal, fellowship and singing.
