Well, I went against my son's advice and saw "Deadpool". I'm glad I did. He thought I wouldn't enjoy the humor. I can't stand sophomoric humor. You know the kind that is vulgar just to be vulgar. This wasn't.
Deadpool is a character from the Marvel comics. His language is atrocious. There is some nudity, and quite a bit of gore. According to my friend the movie follows the graphic novel (comic book) quite well. It is rated "R" and deserves it. I would not bring someone younger than 16.
Deadpool is played by Ryan Reynolds with a good sarcastic wit. He is constantly "breaking the fourth wall", in other words talking to the audience. His super power is that he can regenerate and heal.m and he is very strong and agile.
He gained his power when he was mutated to cure his terminal cancer. Afterward he looked as though he had been burned all over. He can't heal his looks or change his mutant ability but his goal through the movie is to find cure.
His fiancé is played by Morena Baccarin. She is a very good partner to his goofiness.
I enjoyed the movie. It is definitely not for everyone. However if you enjoy superhero movies you just may have some fun with this.
So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
