Now here's an event foodies and wine and craft beer lovers won't want to miss.
For the 13th year in a row Can Council Great Lakes Bay Region is set to tempt taste buds with 14 food stations filled with seafood, fish, meat, plus sushi, desserts, wine and craft beer for Wines Around the World.
Presented by Catholic Federal Credit Union, the event runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. April 8 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bay City - Riverfront, 1 Wenonah Park Place. Tickets are $60, and available by calling 989-671-1345.
It's advised to get tickets early since the event is usually a sellout.
"Every year we have more than 500 people," said Alan Doner, honorary chairman.
Food isn't the only reason to stop by. Those attending may also take home an auction item or two.
"We have lots of auction items," said Doner. "Live and silent. We have a week at a three-bedroom home in the mountains of Colorado, a condo in Colorado, plenty of Tiger tickets, piston tickets, fishing charters and tons of wine."
Wines are won with a pull of a $20 cork. Each cork has a wine listed on it valued at least $20, with the grand prize a bottle of $300 Opus One.
"Our goal this year is to exceed $66,000," said Doner.
Money raised stays the community to fight child abuse and neglect as well as educating children and adults on the subject.
