MARRIOTT SET? 100 Room Hotel at Uptown Eyes Friday Start
The spanking new Courtyard by Marriott, a 100-room gem in the center of the $50 million-plus Uptown at RiversEdge development in Bay City, is finally ready to go.
A visit to the lobby of the hotel on Monday revealed last minute building preparations and a staff meeting underway. Sources at the site who did not want to be quoted said next Friday is the projected opening, although no formal ceremony has been announced.
The original opening date was December 2015 and rumors have flown ever since about the new hotel's progress.
What is definitely known is that the hotel will be part of the Amerilodge Group that also runs the Holiday Inn Express on Wilder Road.
The hotel website posts this information:
"Our brand new Bay City Courtyard delivers choices and convenience for business and leisure travelers alike. From the new lobby and the functional, relaxing rooms to the friendly service, it?s a stay you will feel good about.
"The Uptown Bay City Hotel features multiple spaces to work or relax in, free Wi-Fi throughout, easy access to news, maps, and city events via our interactive GoBoard, an indoor pool, and well-equipped fitness center.
"The highlight of our lobby experience is The Bistro, which provides guests fresh food, a large choice of Starbucks beverages and crafted cocktails.
"Located in the Tri-City area of Midland, Bay City, and Saginaw and just off of M-25 & I-75 our hotel is next to Dow Corning, Michigan Sugar, the Historic Downtown, MBS Airport, General Motors, and McLaren Hospital. With views of the Saginaw River, Bay City's Newest Marriott and Hotel is situated in the perfect spot for Bay City's Festivals such as the River Roar, 4th of July Fireworks Festival, River of Time, and much more."
