The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host a public meeting to discuss plans to replace the M-13/M-84 (Lafayette Street) bascule bridge starting in 2020.

Individuals interested in learning details about the project or providing input are invited to stop by anytime during this open-house style meeting. MDOT staff will be on hand to answer questions.

This is the second public meeting held in Bay City. A good crowd attended the first meeting where MDOT staff exhibited posters, drawings, maps and other supporting material. The public was able to have one-on-one discussions with MDOT to gather information and offer suggestions.

This 2-year project is necessary to replace the bridge foundation and superstructure as both are aging pieces of infrastructure. The bridge replacement is expected to start in 2020 will conclude in 2022.

Additional information regarding the environmental study is available at the MDOT web site using the link goo.gl/W2TJZl
