Bay City Local Pro Boxers

The Toughman PROFESSIONAL Boxing Series comes to Bay City on Friday Night (June 30, 2006) beginning at 8:00 PM.

Boxing matches will take place outside, in the parking lot at Hooters, located at the East end of Midland Street on Bay City's West Side.

Toughman Pro Fights will follow the always-entertaining Toughgloves event which will be held Thursday night, June 29 (Also at Hooters.)

"Toughman Pro Boxing is experienced, professional boxing," said MC & Owner of Hooters, Art Dore about the upcoming action.

According to Dore, Toughman Professional Boxers are pro fighters, who have most likely fought in Toughman and have now turned professional.

All fighters undergo pre-fight and post-fight physicals. A doctor and EMT's will be present at ringside (at all times) during the event.

Listed below are just a few names of talented boxers to look for on Friday night at Hooters ....

  • Coach Bob Arsenault trains many of the local Bay City boxers. Arsenault is a veteran, registered & certified boxing coach who has been active in local boxing circles since the 1970s.

    "We have a lot of talented boxers on the card Friday night," said Arsenault. "I train some of the fighters and they are in excellent shape." Arsenault went on to say that the Hooters arena will be a fun festival-type atmosphere for the boxing event.

    "I started boxing when I was 10 years old," said Mike Walther, a 35 year-old Bay City fighter. "I fought in Tough man from 1994 to 1998 and then turned pro in 1998," Walther went on.

    "I just do it for the fun of it and to entertain my friends," laughed Walther. "I like to show the younger boxers that a 35 year-old can still compete. Boxing is the best sport in the world."

    This will be the second Pro fight for Bay City's Branden Arsenault. "My first Pro fight was in Kalamazoo," Branden said. "I had a knock-out the 1st round."

    "I've been around boxing my whole life," Branden went on. "But I started serious boxing when I was 15 years old."

    "Friday night will be cool, Branden continued. The event is outside at Hooters and its always good to fight in your hometown, because you have all your friends backing you," Branden said.

    Arsenault's bout will be the Main Event of the evening against Josh Mix of St. Joseph.

    All General Admission Seats are $10.00 in Advance. ($5.00 more at the door, night of event.)
