He's Big. Yes, He's a Chicken. ,
He's Burger King's Big Hucking Chicken
Fast Food Chicken Wars --
After three weeks of wondering what the heck the Burger King Big
Something Chicken television ad was really saying . . . I found the time to do some Googling.
First, (and I hope you recall this) it was Big
Bucking Chicken. Big Bucking Chicken was easy to figure out. After all, he was on a "bucking" horse.
But then, the Big Bucking Chicken was replaced by something most of us are not really familiar with . . . the Big
"Hucking" Chicken. That's right . . . I said
"Hucking."
I know. I know. I thought it might be saying THAT "other word," too (for a few seconds at least). But in my heart, I KNEW it had to be something other than the word it sounded like. It couldn't be one of the "Seven Words" George Carlin told us could never be on television. Even if it is 2006.
But when I get the Burger King chicken music stuck in my head, (and we all do) I hardly ever sing . . . Big
Hucking Chicken. And I know what you sing . . .
Here's some more background:
From Wikipedia: A Major source of Internet Information . . .
In March of 2006, Burger King introduced the Big Buckin' Chicken commercial made by CPB Miami to advertise the tender crisp cheesy bacon chicken sandwich. The TV ad shows 'old' 8 mm footage of a cowboy riding a chicken in a rodeo while people on the sideline cheer on. The voice concludes that "the only way to beat it, is to eat it."
The latest commercial, the "Big
Huckin' Chicken", features a large chicken riding a dirt-bike. So here's the chicken scoop . . . First, you gotta check out the television ad at this site. http://www.huckinchicken.com/home.php
Hope you had enough bandwidth to enjoy that. Secondly, there is no definition in the Webster Dictionary for
Hucking Well, not yet anyway.
Above:(Left) Some Serious "Hucking" by Tony Hawk and (Right) the Burger King Chicken launches (Hucks) into the air. Nice Hucking, Chicken
But on we go . . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mat_Hoffman . . . Here we learn about the incredible Matt Hoffman as well as Tony Hawk's Boom Boom
Huck Jam . . .
http://www.boomboomhuckjam.com/
And at Tony Hawk's famous Huck Jam web site . . . we finally find the answer we've been looking for . . . According to the famous Tony Hawk:
WHAT IS BOOM BOOM HUCKJAM?
Tony says: Basically it was just a way to think of something different because we didn't want to call it "The Extreme Circus".
Tony says: "We use the term "hucking" to mean launch into the air, and "jam" is the format of which we do it all. We all get together and we jam, and "boom boom" is basically just to give it a good rhythm." (And of course, they HUCK a lot, too.)
Mystery solved. And there you have it, my friends . . . the straight chicken scoop on the Burger King
Big Hucking Chicken. C'mon. Say it with me.
BIG HUCKING CHICKEN . . . Say it again. Big
HUCKING Chicken. I think you've got it!
Now all we have to do is get that creepy image out of our mind . . . of the guy that eats so many Burger King Chicken Sandwiches that his feet turn into chicken feet. YUCK!
