On Saturday June 24th, Spicer Engineering held their 8th annual Walleye Tournament at Lindy?s Landing on M-25 in Quanicassee. Mother Nature cooperated by supplying a rare beautiful day to be on Saginaw Bay.

13 teams competed for top honors with team Lois Kay bringing in the largest five fish bag at 14.15 lbs. Lois Kay also took top honors in the largest walleye division with a 4.90 lb eye. Team Jeff Wood won the biggest junk fish division with a 6.20 lb cat fish.

Here is how the rest of the field finished.

    2nd Ben Shepard, 5 fish 13.55 lbs
3rd Dan Luft / Dennis Gulau, 5 fish 13.25 lbs
    4th Larry Protasiewicz, 5 fish 11.50 lbs
    5th Tim Inman, 5 fish 10.65 lbs
    6th Don Scherzer, 5 fish 9.75 lbs
    7th Wayne, 5 fish 8.40 lbs
    8th Jeff Wood, 5 fish 8.05 lbs
    9th Russ B, 5 fish 7.40 lbs
    10th Kevin, 5 fish 7.05 lbs
    11th Eric D, 5 fish 6.20 lbs
    12th Brent M, 5 fish 4.25 lbs
    13th Mike R, 1 fish 1.40 lbs

The walleye were eager to bite on tournament day, thirteen teams brought in a total of 138 walleyes that were the main course in the "after weigh in" fish fry.

A big Thank You goes out to Lindys for being the host marina for the tournament and also for providing the fish cleaning facilities and pavilion for the fish fry.

Another big Thank You goes out to the Lindy's Landing "residents" for helping with the fish cleaning duties and for doing a fantastic job of cooking the fish.
