It's almost that time. The Tall Ships are returning to Bay City for a fantastic weekend visit July 20-23, 2006. Bay City is the only official host port in Michigan for the American Sail Training Association's Tall Ships fleet so this is the place to be. The ships will line up on either side of the Saginaw River in Downtown. It will be the largest gathering of Tall Ships in the State this summer.
Besides the ships the city will put on a full scale Maritime festival with three days of family fun, much of which is free! Look for hands-on craft activities for children, musicians, interactive ship tours and much more. For those who want to feel the wind in their faces there will be sailing excursions on selected ships.
Steve Kent and his family have lived in Bay City for 40 years. He is VP of Technical Services at MMCC which produces MyBayCity.Com. Kent is active in many Bay City civic organizations.
