The Valley Aero Club Presents The 2006 Bay City Airshow, Honoring our Patriots in Uniform.

Bay City's beautiful James Clements Airport , (614 S. River Road, Bay City - Pictured Below) will be hosting the fun-filled aeronautic excitement and family fun airshow with featured performers from all over the United States.

The Airshow will display aerobatic performances, skywriting, skydivers, military displays, helicopter performances, jet powered exhibition vehicles, wing walkers and more.

At ground level, a festival atmosphere will offer great food, musical entertainment, static aircraft displays, exciting all new aviation oriented Kid Zone, and family activities.

* James Clements Memorial Airport was built 1928-1930. In 1926 the Bay City Chamber of Commerce recognized the economic benefits that could be derived from a local airport and decided to build one and dedicate it to Bay City men killed during World War I. The Aeronautics Committee immediately sought the financial support of industrialist William L. Clements, whose son Ensign James L. Clements had been an aviator during the war and died of influenza in France. Clements agreed to make a substantial donation, provided the facility was named in honor of his son. This site was chosen because it had served as an airfield for fifteen years. The Neo-Georgian Administration Building, designed by local architect Joseph C. Goddeyne, and the hanger were dedicated on July 29, 1930.
The event will take place Saturday & Sunday, August 12-13, 2006.
