Foghat was an English rock band that had its greatest success in the mid- to late-1970s. Their music was straight-ahead blues-rock, dominated by electric & electric slide guitar, and the band achieved five gold records.

But on Saturday night, at the 2006 Bay City Pig Gig, FogHat rocked the riverfront. And Pig Gig organizer, Wendy Dore "wouldn't have it any other way."

"Fool for the City" and "I just want to make love to you" rocked the Saturday crowd, but "Slow Ride" stole the show and ended the encore with a huge crowd response. Foghat will be remembered in Bay City for years to come.

Foghat began their career in 1971 as a bunch of rather unpretentious young Brits with an affection for American blues and '50s rock 'n' roll. By the middle of the decade, they had evolved into a major touring and recording act, playing a pumped-up brand of boogie-rock to arena-size audiences. Their looks grew flashier, their sound fattened and filled out, yet the roots-rock core of the band remained ever-present under the surface.

On Sunday, singer-songwriter Jen Cass of Bay City wowed the crowd Sunday after noon. Cass who was born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, now lives in Bay City with Husband John Barnes.

"Jen Cass' songs are always from the heart - and from a strange imagination. Cass' point of view is wry, sometimes wise, and often compassionate. Her mainstream-country melodies are perfectly matched to her smart lyrics, and John Jennings provides crisp production that accents her sophisticated yet never fussy style. A class act." Cass, said "I've played hundreds of gigs throughout the world, but tonight I'm even more excited about playing in front of my hometown."

Kraft said, "This is a great fun, family oriented event and it helps children and adults throughout the community." Kraft went on to say " This event exists because of Labadie and State Farm Insurance." Palmer, said "The Pig Gig is a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club among 15 other charities.
