"This special event offers a wealth of information about exciting economic development opportunities throughout the Bay area," said Mike Seward, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce President.
 

Vital questions about how economic development is being conducted and is progressing in the Bay area will be main topics of an upcoming event.

The Dow Chemical Company and the DoubleTree Hotel - Bay City Riverfront, are main sponsors and 17 other firms and organizations are backing "Bay Area On The Go" Wednesday, Sept. 13.

This event is billed by Bay Area Chamber of Commerce President Michael Seward as a luncheon, expo and forums plus a special economic development tour of the Bay Area.

"This special event offers a wealth of information about exciting economic development opportunities throughout the Bay area," said Mr. Seward, adding: "Hear about projects currently underway and how Bay Area leaders are recruiting new business and industry to the region and encouraging expansion of existing companies."

The agenda:

  • 9:30 a.m. - registration and continental breakfast;
  • development expo opens;


  • 9:45 - 11:15 a.m. - Bay Area Economic Development Tour;

  • 11-12 a.m. - reception and development expo;

  • 12-1:50 p.m. - Luncheon and keynote address by James Barrett, president, Michigan Chamber of Commerce;

    1:50 - 4 p.m. - development expo and cash bar;

    2:15 - 3:30 p.m. - concurrent forums;

  • Forum I - "Downtown Bay City: The Next Big Thing"

  • Forum II - "Bay City Economic Development Plans & Initiatives"

  • Forum III - "Bay County Economic Development Tool Box
