The popular River of Lights has returned to Veterans Memorial Park with more displays and more activities. A committee was formed and has worked with the Visitors and Convention Bureau, the Downtown Management Board, and others to revive the festival.

Many events are planned in downtown and in the parks during November and December.

  • Saturday night found local JayTeens, the youth program of the JayCees, at the pavilion in Liberty Harbor holding a cookie decorating party for kids.

  • Santa's House is open Weekends from 1 to 4 pm.

  • The Historical Society will host visitors at the Trombley House in the park and will hold Breakfast with Santa.

  • Sundays in the City will find stores and shops open all day through Christmas.

  • The State Theater will screen holiday films including "Bed Knobs and Broomsticks", "Babes in Toyland", "It's A Wonderful Life", and "The Polar Express".

  • The Bay City Players will stage "A Christmas Story".

  • Kevin Cole will appear in concert at the State Theater.

  • There will be horse drawn carriage rides through historic downtown.

All in all it looks like another festive season in Bay City.
