Florida Senator Bill Nelson made a great point in discussion on the Senate floor about Iraq, noting that the U.S. is attempting to settle a dispute that started in 600 A.D. Sen. Nelson noted the futility in putting U.S. troops at risk in the middle of such a long-standing sectarian struggle. It's hard to disagree with him, no matter how noble the intentions area. We are wasting our resources, human and monetary, in a fight that no doubt will continue long after the U.S. government finally decides that this was an unwinnable "war."###
