Netflix - They Never Tell You About The 'Queue'
Here's the Netflix deal: (I'm sure you've heard it a hundred times) - 3 DVD's at a time, unlimited for $17.99 a month. When you're done with one . . . you mail it back . . . and they send you another.
Sounds pretty cool, right?
But when you subscribe, they don't tell you about the "QUEUE."
You gotta keep your Queue up to date.
You gotta keep what you want next at the top of your Queue.
You gotta browse so you can find movies to put in your Queue.
You gotta rate movies that you return so that Netflix can show you movies that are similar to the ones you like. So you can add them to your Queue.
Cuz if you let your Queue get out of control, Netflix might send you anything they want to send.
For example: I noticed on Thursday that I had three Netflix envelops in the house. Good Grief! How Can That Be?
You gotta keep those movies spinning. You gotta watch 'em and get 'em back in the mail. So you can get the next one at the top of your Queue into your mail in-box.
In the fourteen months that I've had Netflix, I've had 123 Netflix movies in my house. That's just about two DVD's every weekend. Bottom Line: Each of those movies cost about $2.00 to watch. I can only imagine what it would have cost me to see those same 123 movies in a theater environment.
Maybe there's no late fees when you subscribe to Netflix. But there's pressure just the same. There's no mail on Monday because of President's Day.
How am I gonna get my movies back to Netflix so I can get two new ones by Friday.
I also gotta check my Queue. And I gotta find what new releases are out next Tuesday. Maybe I just might drive down to the Post Office and at least get my DVD's in the mail flow for next week.
This Netflix is a lot of work.
