The best extreme fighters from around the Tri-cities and beyond battled in an action packed Mixed Martial Arts Full Contact Fighting at Bay City's Westown on Midland Street Wednesday night, April 4, 2007.

The extreme fighters used 6 ounce gloves and were scheduled three, 3 minute rounds. In a "almost" anything goes, mixed material arts bout, inside a shut and locked steel cage.

Results Below:

Bruce Falcon, co-owner of The Westown, said, "It was a great turn-out, it brought people here from all around Michigan, which is great for Bay City Businesses."

1. The opening bout was Mike "Lightning" Lucero of West Branch, who won over Fred "Monster" Sackrider, after the first round. Lucero, who's known for detaching punching bags from the ceiling, from hitting it so hard, said "It was a blast here at the Westown." His opponent Sackrider, from Reese said, "I'll fight anywhere they have the cage." Sackrider is sponsored by Bay City Health & Family Fitness.

2. "Dynamite Dan" Truex of Fremont, over Bay City's "Freight Train" Doug Kolka, first round with whats called an arm-bar.

3. "Superman Shawn" Doyle from New Body Health & Fitness over "Mad Mark" Letson of Auburn on round three.

4. Bay City's 26-year-old Matt "Wildman" Wendling over Jackhammer John Mobley of Alger, first round.

5. The popular, and well known Ole "LumberJack" Thorson of Skidway Lake, in the night's featured bout, shook the cage as well as the crowd with his 1st round win over Wesley "Rocky" Rau of Omer. (Pictured Above) Ole LumberJack Thorson



6. "Psycho Shawn" Dean of Auburn over "Relentless Rick" Erickson of Prescott. Erickson was was previously undefeated.

During HALFTIME Art Dore, announced the return of the Original Toughman Contest to FOX SPORTS TV this summer, while the Hooters girls danced in the cage. (Pictured Left) Hooters' Ring Girls Amber Tober and Adrienne Decatur.

7. "Crazy Craig" Cyr of Milton over Erick "Swingin'" Swinson of Rhodes.

8. Dan "The Stinging Jellyfish" McIntyre of Ann Arbor over "Roboman Rob" Steiner of Saginaw.

9. 18 year-old Gabe "Baby Face" Couch, a high school senior from Beaverton surprised the crowd with a victory when he slammed his opponent, 31 year old, Pounder Phil Charbeneau of Sterling, to the canvass.

10. (Pictured Right) In the Heavyweight division, and the last bout of the night, Chad "Hit Man" Herrick of East Tawas produced the grand finale as he thrilled the crowd with his triumph over Jake "Knockout" Nix of Beaverton.

(Below) Earlier that night, Jake Nix and girlfriend, Megan Grove. Grove admitted, "I get incredibly nervous before his fights."




(Left) Bubbas Tri City Cycle sold bike raffle tickets. All proceeds from the raffle will go to Camp Fish Tales of Pinconning. "Newboy" of Bubba's Cycles said the raffle started January 1st. The winner will be drawn (May 27,) Sunday of Memorial Weekend.
