It MUST be Spring... or at least Spring is right around the corner. Bay City's annual Saint Patricks Day Parade is THIS SUNDAY! It's hard to believe. Seems that we just wrote last years article on the parade. Time does fly by.
MyBayCity.com will publish a special edition early next week with coverage of the parade. In the meantime, it may be worth looking at some weather facts... just to get us in the mood.
The forcast for the parade is for a high of 50 degrees. That's abit above our St. Pat's average of 40.
It's also predicted to be mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and a north wind at 6mph.
All in all, that's not too bad. To put it in perspective, think back to 1992 when we set a record LOW of 10 degrees. Remember THAT one? Of course, the record HIGH was only two years earlier in 1990 when the themometer reached 79 degrees. That was nice.
This year's parade should be as great as usual. There will be some 124 units, the usual huge crowds, and the traffic tie ups. The
MyBayCity.com reporting and photography staff will be out in force to record the event. They even promised not to retreat into the office (right behind the reviewing stand) if the weather gets too cold or wet.
(See our
2002 coverage from last year's parade.)
