Waterfall provides magical spot for Friday night music gathering.

Friday night in Bay City, Michigan . . .

Looking for an oasis where you can stop to relax and enjoy the local musical talent?

Then, Friday at the Falls should be your choice.

Friday at the Falls is presented by Bay Arts Council in conjunction with the Downtown Management Board. Full Schedule

Bike riders, moms with strollers, parents and kids just out for a walk . . . They all found their way to the Water Street Waterfall Park for some mellow sounds to start their weekend.

The Waterfall Park is located on the Saginaw River at the end of Third Street, snuggled between the Kingfish Restaurant and St. Laurent's Brothers.

Greg Kimbrue, one of the owners at Kingfish poked his head outside his eatery to enjoy the music. "This is an awesome crowd tonight," Kimbrue said, checking out the number of people on hand for the performance. Kimbrue's restaurant also offers a dockside area for drinks and entertainment on the weekend.

"Our music starts at dockside right after the waterfall concert ends," Kimbrue said.

Kimbrue added that this was one of the finest turnouts of the Summer. "It's great to get the locals downtown after work on a Friday night," Kimbrue went on. "There's so much to see and do down by the river."

Cary Ewing and the Back-Up Band perform at the Waterfall Park last Friday night in downtown Bay City.

A cool breeze off the river made it a perfect night for this local crowd as they enjoyed the sounds of the Cary Ewing and the Back-Up Band at the Waterfall Park in Bay City.

Tom and Carolyn Killey rode their 7-speed Schwinn Tango Tandem bicycle down to the Waterfall Park for the concert. Killey said his wife is originally from Philadelphia, "So I have to steer."
