Bay City Professional Boxer
Cory "Mad Bomber" Peterson

Mad Bomber Productions in association with Art Dore & Greg Ahrens (TMS) present a night of Professional and Amateur Boxing at Hooters in Bay City on Thursday, August 16, 2007.

Amateur Boxing will feature 8 to 10 elite open class local USA Amateur fighters. Each bout is 3-two minute rounds of fighting, with boxers wearing 12-ounce gloves, headgear, groin protectors and mouthpieces.

Trained medical staff from USA BOXING will be ringside at all times and pre-bout physicals and post fight exams will be given to ensure the safety of the fighters.

Local Amateurs include Vernon Washington, Alious Griffen, Santos Martinez, Daniel Sanchez, and Kyle McNutt. Plus a woman's grudge rematch from the last Hooters show.

The Professional Boxing will be featuring 5 World Class Matches overseen by the State of Michigan Board of Athletic Control.

HEADLINING THE NIGHT IN THE MAIN EVENT - Undefeated Cory (Mad Bomber) Peterson, 38, of Bay City, will put it on the line in a 10 round championship bout against 5'9, southpaw, Patrick Byrd of Flint for the Hooters Intercontinental Series Championship Welterweight Title Belt. Pat Byrd is the brother of former world champion heavyweight Chris Byrd and son of Joe Byrd, former USA Olympic boxing coach.

Peterson, who is also the CEO/Owner of Mad Bomber Productions, made his Professional boxing debut on November 24, 2006 and currently has 6 wins & 0 loses (4 -KO's) and is now rated 97th in the world and 19 in the U.S. at welterweight and rising. Peterson is right handed, 147 lbs and 5'8.

The Mad Bomber has emerged as one of the most exciting, action packed, up-coming fighters in the world. Peterson recently fought on Fox Sports Network and Verses and beat the WBF Welterweight Title Holder Johnathon Tubbs (10 wins 2 Loses 1 draw) with a KO victory in Rochester New York. A rematch is in the works to fight for the WBF Welterweight Title.

Tom Jablonski, VP and Manager of Mad Bomber Productions said, "We decided back in 2006 to start our own production company which evolved into doing our own promotions.
This will be Mad Bomber Productions first promotional fight. Jablonski said, "This is a great opportunity for us, we want to thank Promoter, Greg Ahrens and Art Dore without them this wouldn't be possible." Jablonski added, "This is the first time we will be the home-town favorite, we are use to being the opponent, so this will be a nice change for us."

According to Steve Samborn, Head Trainer, Peterson trains hard 6 days a week and is very dedicated and very self motivated. A normal day for Cory is a morning work out at the YMCA for 2 hours, with cardio, including swimming and sauna. Then Cory runs with his brother Scott Peterson about 3 to 5 miles a day. At 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm Cory works out at the gym. Peterson runs 8 miles with the Bay Area Runners Club on Tuesdays. "There are about 20 of us. There are high school kids, older people, young people. It's a great group," Peterson said.

Below is a review of Peterson's previous fights.

11/24/06
Manistee, Michigan - Peterson made his pro debut against Muskegon's Eddie Iceman Tice (5-0) at the Little River Casino on Nov. 24th. Peterson had a dominating Performance over Tice and in the 4th round Peterson had Tice out on his feet and the Referee jumped in and stopped the fight 1:48 of the 4th round giving Peterson an upset 4th round TKO.

12/16/06
Saginaw, Michigan - Mad Bomber had his second fight against Willie (Pretty Boy) Diamond. Once again, Peterson had a dominating performance winning by Unanimous Decision in 4 rounds. Peterson knocked down Diamond in the first round with a triple left hook giving Diamond a 8-count. Diamond put up a great fight throughout battling with Peterson exchanging blows but Peterson continued to Dominate and staggered Diamond in each round.

2/17/07
Lansing Michigan - Cory wins by TKO! Opponent Joey (Flint Toy) Choate. 1:57 of the 1st round Peterson dominated through the first round.

4/7/07
Peoria, Illinois - Peterson wins again by 2nd Round KO. Peterson went down twice in round one only to get up and come back in the 2nd round and KO Rodriguez with a right to the body and left hook to the head and right hand behind that and the finishing blow was another enormous overhand Right. Rodriguez went down and couldn't get up. Peterson's Tremendous Power was really the deciding factor in the fight. The body punches Peterson was throwing took everything out of Rodriguez and set him up for the Head shots that took him out.

4/21/07
Lansing, Michigan - in a 4 Round bout Mad Bomber took on Bruce Burkhardt who was making his Pro Debut. Peterson Staggered Burkhardt from the start and never let up. Burkhardt took a lot of punches to the head and hung in there for four Rounds and went down at the Bell in the final round to only be saved by the bell and lose a Unanimous Decision to the Mad Bomber who now is 5 wins - 0 loses (3KO's).

6/14/07
Rochester, New York - Peterson beat the WBF Welterweight Title Holder Johnathon Tubbs (10 wins 2 Loses 1 draw) with a KO victory. Peterson fought a 6 round fight against Tubbs Knocking him down in the fourth and stopping him 18 seconds into the 5th round after knocking him down again. The Referee jumped in and stopped it after that knock down. The Mad Bomber dominated the entire fight. This fight sky-rocketed Peterson's rankings, look for a rematch for the WBF Welterweight Title later this year.
